Alternative to Copic Ciao: Looking for New Markers: Reviews

Argh, My kids got into my GOOD markers. I have had them for about 8 years. They were set I got when I first started scrapbooking with Creative memories a long long time ago. They were in perfect shape and no they are a disaster.

I keep looking at the Copic Ciao Markers Alternative to Copic Ciao: Looking for New Markers: Reviews but I have really not been stamping much and seems like a huge expense. I have heard that they blend beautifully.
I tend to use my Prismacolor Premier Pencils Alternative to Copic Ciao: Looking for New Markers: Reviews with Odorless Mineral spirits when coloring . I keep coming bac to the Copics but not sure I if want them just because they are the latest craze or if I eed them.

Stamping burned a HUGE hole in my craft budget and I tend to cringe whenever I look at buying more stamp stuff.
For the amount of times I would use these the price tag seems So high. My LSS is selling them for 6.00 each and art supply store 3.80. I also don’t like the tips the Copic Ciao marker comes with. I want a brush and a fine tip pen- I think Tombow Alternative to Copic Ciao: Looking for New Markers: Reviews is the one one that has this.. but they are ware based and I prefer the fast dry times of Copic, etc.

The Top Markers for scrapbook and card makers seem to Be Sakura Alternative to Copic Ciao: Looking for New Markers: Reviews. Tombow, Copic Ciao or Sketch and Prisma Color Markers Alternative to Copic Ciao: Looking for New Markers: Reviews. I have also seen the Zig markers Alternative to Copic Ciao: Looking for New Markers: Reviewsat my local scrapbook store.

On one of my craft email list someone mentioned BIC Mark-It Alternative to Copic Ciao: Looking for New Markers: Reviews
which are very cheap and seem like they may be what I am looking for. I think using the Copic Blending pen Alternative to Copic Ciao: Looking for New Markers: Reviews
with Bic Markit may work as they are also alcohol based.

Marker resources:
I have mentioned before but worth mentioning again- EXCELLENT post A Copic Marker / Prismacolor “Premier” Pencil Comparison .

A teeny bit off topic- but such a great and well researched article by Ellen Hutson on what types of inks work well with Copic ( alcohol ink based markers). I found this article to be hugely informative and appreciate the effort it must have took to write it. Her work is also just gorgeous.

splitcoaststampers has a teric thread that answered alot of my questions: What is the Difference between Tombow/Marvy Le Plume and the new Copic Markers?

Bics vs. Copics Colour Chart is a colour chart to compare the Bic Markits with Copic Markers- very handy!

I am going to buy the BIC Mark-It Alternative to Copic Ciao: Looking for New Markers: Reviews
tomorrow as well as Copic blending pen and 4 Copic Ciao basic colours to compare- and will post results later in the week.
I don’t mind investing money ONCE if I love them icon smile Alternative to Copic Ciao: Looking for New Markers: Reviews .

Thank you very, very much for putting this thoroughly useful post together. I’m a somewhat new scrapper and stamper (started last October), and would love to get into using markers more, but Copics simply are not in my budget right now. I love your idea of trying the Bics with a Copic blender however, and may very give that a spin soon myself.

Thanks again for a marvelous post (I bookmarked nearly every article/post you mentioned) and plenty of food for creative thought.

    Cheerful weekend wishes,
    Jessica
