Still plugging away at “mastering” Make the Cut .

It has been a long time since I have worked this hard and been this happy with results! The photo just doesn’t do card justice- it is REALLY great looking! My only issue with it is I meant to use some of the paper you see in background on front of the card and totally forgot.. and no more of my DoubleMates Groovy Grape Cardstock to redo

I spent an embarrassing amount of time on this card. First I wanted to something different with the fold- I did an off centre gate fold. The measuring was tricky.I was actually going to do a rose but when I cut the details were just too fine so started back at square 2. I REALLY wanted to figure out how to do dimensional cards- this isn’t quite a pop up but not sure what to call it

I also had a very good day cutter wise- everything cut beautifully and that is rare for me! The file cut so smoothly right out of the gate although I had to do alot of experimenting to get the look I wanted for butterfly. I used up my last piece of Doublemates *sniff* I am not kidding you- this is the BEST paper! It cuts so nicely and looks fantastic. MY LSS is ordering some more in for me and quite pleased- I haven’t been able to find for months. I am also looking at actually carry the papers in my Quilling Patch store- which would be very scary- I go through ridiculous amounts of paper!!!!!

I started to work on embellishing this card when my daughter walked by my works station and commented- that would look nice with rhinestone. Well.. two hours later had the perfect swirl.. If there is interest I will put up the template to use in MTC.
I don’t want to scare people how long it takes me to do these! I am a total perfectionist and this was new territory for me. I like every line to be perfect and parallel and my OCD wont allow for small errors in the files. When putting together I am much more relaxed but the actual files I work and re-work. I find it relaxing almost a Zen like way.

So… in putting together this card I used aqua rhinestones.. ( they are much more subtle in real life) my Groovy Grape Doublemates and in background is the paper I wanted to use – I printed it from Lettering Delights J’Adore paper pack and then stickled some of the flowers… There are some aqua tones in the paper which is why I used that colour of rhinestones. The card is standard size A2.
This is a great card to play with! I cant wait to see what you guys come up with…
