Fall Wheat Design for Journalling Boxes and Cards- Wheat Cutting file SVG GSD KNK MTC

Hi all! Well SURVIVED Thanksgiving with my family and there was WAY more drama than I could have anticipated! Will not go into detail but suffice to say took two days to recover from the family fallout :-)
I love fall and fall designs and could churn them out all day! I was working on an idea for place cards for Thanksgiving that could be used later as a Journalling Box- had people write on their place card the things they were thankful for this year. I started this tradition of making journalling boxes for my family to fill out several years ago and it has stuck. This year I did up a very pretty fall design of a stylized wheat sheaf on an oval. This could easily be used on a card as well. Not sure what to call this style “Wheat Oval” sounds just odd!

This looks great using Bazzill Classic Orange Classic Orange and Bazzill Desert Marigold/Grass Cloth ( which is double sided – my favourite!)

You have done it again, this design is just beautiful. I can’t wait to get back to crafting! I so want to cut at least one of your designs. Until then, I collect. You are very, very talented! Thank you so much for sharing!

@kathy thanks for compliment although i think it has more to do with knowing software than actual talent!
Very hard to get back to crafting when you are out of it for awhile. Seems overwhelming ar first best thing to do is JUMP right in where you are at and not worry :)

Lisa – This is amazing!! Sorry to hear about your Thanksgiving – But your idea of the Journaling box for everyone to write down what they are thankful for this year is great!!! Over here in England we dont have “Thanksgiving” but we do have a sort of “Harvest Festival tradition in schools” but sadly This is dying out now more and more…
Thank you so much for sharing this… I do a real nice Pyrography Field mouse that will go fantastic with this!!!! xxx

Beautiful design. Maybe with all the time between now and Thanksgiving, I can copy your wonderful idea and preserve some memories of what we’re thankful for. Thank you for the file and the ideas.

As usual, it’s lovely. I’m almost finished my Halloween cards so the wheat svg comes at a perfect time. Might cut a batch and send them to my cousin’s unit in Afghanistan. As for knowing the software and your talent, we all know better. :0) Thank you so much.

Aww Sorry Lisa for the confusion.. my lap top decided to play up!! Pyrography is The Art of Wood Burning .. by using a tool… What I do to Create a “Field Mouse” (often found in Wheat fields here in England) I pencil draw shape I want on a dry flat piece of sanded wood then using the Heated tool That has wire on the end Brush over the pencil marks on the wood to burn into it….The longer (slower) you go the more darker the wood goes.. Creating shading…

Obviously the Wood you use varies from tree to tree and different types of tree wood used Makes different Effects.. Plus the Super Grain of the wood!!

I thought that this Wheat cutting file would make a Great Frame To go around the “drawn” mouse!!! And It did!!! I cut several oval shapes on the Thinish flat wood First Then -I tried first using your file as a “Stencil” type = Result not so good.. So I cut it in card and glued down!! around my Pyrographed drawn mouse Then sealed it with varnish and put a wall hook on the back !!! = RESULT FANTASTIC!!!!

Pity my daughter has “borrowed” my camera..
grrrr…. I used a Cherry tree wood as the base as that has a “pinkish” glow to the wood…and I used “Berry” coloured card to cut the file and several coats of clear Yacht varnish to seal it!! !! If I enlarged it I think it would make a super Wall plaque to go next to the front door Obviously with the House Number Burnt into it too…. Thank you so much for sharing your fantastic files hunny xxxx

    Hugs Annette
