This week I struggled created a very sweet little treat box/bag to share for Valentines Day. I meant to grab some cinnamon hearts to fill before a photographed so my little boxes look a little empty!. Oh well- I would just end up eating them anyway

Some days I make a cutting file and it cuts perfectly first time… then there are days like today ….. not too much went right and my OCD was careening out of control trying to make everything perfect! Make the Cut software kept crashing when I opened the file I created on my main computer. You can just use the SVG file with no problem. I did submit a support ticket and hope to hear back from Make the Cut soon. The issue seemed to be with the dash lines- when i changed line to dash file would crash program. I would be curious to know if any of you had issue with this file as well.

I can tell you that since I have been using Make the Cut to actually cut with my cutting machine machine my frustrations have really diminished. Generally I get perfect cuts on my scrapbook paper 90% of the time. I used to have battles with my KNK Studio software so I was pretty concerned when this problem popped up. I am sure its something that is an easy fix and will keep you posted. I have been using my KNK Groove-E for about 4 months now and LOVE it. At first I couldnt see the use of flatbeds but now couldn’t live without.

Also had my USUAL ATG Gun issues! I know that scrapbookers and card makers LOVE this scrapbook tool but I am still not convinced.I actually had to make my video 3 times- the ATG gun kept screwing up and my cameraman/daughter couldn’t stop laughing.

I used Lettering Delights Love is Sweet Paper Pack to print the paper you see used in the pic of treat bags. All you have to do it print the pattern with any photo imaging software or using Make the Cut! software. I did up a short video in how to print papers using Make the Cut, Printing Your Own Scrapbook Paper- Use Make the Cut to Print your Own Scrapbooking Paper. I love using these papers- they print nicely and the colours co-ordnate perfectly. I also like not having to go to scrapbook store and buy paper

NOTE: OMG- I do not run a daycare although sound like I have zillion kids! Its just 8 year old son and his friend in background- next time will do when no one around- apologize for the background noise!!!

Free Purse Gift Box Cutting File for Scrap booking, Cards and Paper Crafts

Well, this was one of the more difficult and time consuming cutting files I have done in a LONG time! Took me 3 hours and about $20.00 worth of paper.. and my son may have learned some “colourful” language this afternoon.
This is my first attempt at making a gift box- I have always been afraid to tackle- and I was not let down- this was TOUGH.
Add to that the challenge of trying to have cut lines and dash lines in all the different cutting file formats.. yikes! Bring on the pinot!. I have been learning how to use Make the Cut cutting software and can see the potential.
At any rate- this is a very sweet little gift box in shape of a purse. I am quite pleased with the results.
Would make a great little bomboniere box for shower or treat box for birthday party.
I found that you really need to use a heavier card stock with this thin paper will not work as well.

Nothing fancy here- just some basic tag shapes.
When I am doing a cutting file up I tend to waste alot of paper .. mainly because I am in a hurry and lack patience. One way I economize is by inserting basic images in spaces not being used on my expensive papers. I usually do tags and flourishes. Sometimes names of my family or mom/dad/grandmother then I have them on hand to use on card or scrapbook layout. I can usually tweak colours with chalks or inks to match. Also to be honest I use same colours over and over again. You will likely never see kelly green on a any card of mine .. and most of my stuff heavily features hot pinks or black.
Anyway- here are some of the tags I use when I am cutting with my machine. Hope you enjoy!
