This week I struggled created a very sweet little treat box/bag to share for Valentines Day. I meant to grab some cinnamon hearts to fill before a photographed so my little boxes look a little empty!. Oh well- I would just end up eating them anyway

Some days I make a cutting file and it cuts perfectly first time… then there are days like today ….. not too much went right and my OCD was careening out of control trying to make everything perfect! Make the Cut software kept crashing when I opened the file I created on my main computer. You can just use the SVG file with no problem. I did submit a support ticket and hope to hear back from Make the Cut soon. The issue seemed to be with the dash lines- when i changed line to dash file would crash program. I would be curious to know if any of you had issue with this file as well.

I can tell you that since I have been using Make the Cut to actually cut with my cutting machine machine my frustrations have really diminished. Generally I get perfect cuts on my scrapbook paper 90% of the time. I used to have battles with my KNK Studio software so I was pretty concerned when this problem popped up. I am sure its something that is an easy fix and will keep you posted. I have been using my KNK Groove-E for about 4 months now and LOVE it. At first I couldnt see the use of flatbeds but now couldn’t live without.

Also had my USUAL ATG Gun issues! I know that scrapbookers and card makers LOVE this scrapbook tool but I am still not convinced.I actually had to make my video 3 times- the ATG gun kept screwing up and my cameraman/daughter couldn’t stop laughing.

I used Lettering Delights Love is Sweet Paper Pack to print the paper you see used in the pic of treat bags. All you have to do it print the pattern with any photo imaging software or using Make the Cut! software. I did up a short video in how to print papers using Make the Cut, Printing Your Own Scrapbook Paper- Use Make the Cut to Print your Own Scrapbooking Paper. I love using these papers- they print nicely and the colours co-ordnate perfectly. I also like not having to go to scrapbook store and buy paper

For those of you want to see how to assemble I did do up a short video.

NOTE: OMG- I do not run a daycare although sound like I have zillion kids! Its just 8 year old son and his friend in background- next time will do when no one around- apologize for the background noise!!!

If you are interested in MAKING your own mats- please read my post, Make Your Own Mat for Cricut, Silhouette and Other Die Cutting Machines
I am writing this post up because it is one question I get asked all the time- How to refresh a tired un-sticky Mat.

If you mat is a bit dirty I recommend using baby wipes. Give the mat a good wipe down with your Baby wipe (I like Huggies or Kirkland/Costco brand). Why Baby wipes and not just paper towel and soap? Because the wipes have a touch of oil in them which help clean off the gunk. Wiping a relatively clean mat with not only clean it but revive the “sticky” Try it- you;ll be amazed!

If your mat is embarrassingly bad like mine – you would be shocked at the state I let my mats get into- there will never be glamorous photoshoots of my craft area- I can tell you that – You have to step things up a bit.
I give mine a gentle scrub with a scotch brand dish sponge- the gentler one. You can pretty much use any cloth with bit of grit to it- but NOT SOS pad or metal scrubber- you will tear or rip mat. Use a tiny bit of dish soap. The scrubber with lift off gunk and you may also want to use pallete knife for stubborn stuff.
I have had some luck with “sticky” staying if it newer mat- bit Honestly a few shots of Repositionable Spray Adhesive and you are good to go!

Yay or Nay?

Think I MIGHT actually hate my ATG gun- the one that every RAVES about. I wanted to love and i have TRIED to love it. The roll of adhesive gets stuck—- constantly. I find it heavy and bulky and the glue kind of rolls up and gets all over the place.
I bought it when everyone else bought it about a year ago and thought I could get used to it. I feel guilty for not using it- I really wanted to join the ATG gun bandwagon and I spent a ridiculous amount of money on it. It sits on my craft table unused and making me feel bad. FLY Lady would tell ne to give it away- it is neither useful OR makes me smile

To be honest I started out scrabooking in 2001 and was a Creative memories consultant and loved their tape runner- the original one. I always liked tape runner style of adhesive for my card making and scrap booking. The only one I ahve found that comes close to the CM tape runner is Tombow Mono and E-Z Runner which might be my favourite of the two however you can’t refill them- so I pretty much stick to the Tombow….

Am I the only one???? Do you LOVE or hate your ATG gun????

Spent an inordinate amoun of time making this- I find it very difficult to design swirls- there has to be a better way! I wish the design was a little “cleaner” and could get better shape on stems; but over all I am pretty happy.
This Heart Flower design would look very pretty on it own or using one flower as a border or accent. This is versatile cutting file- could use for Mother’s day card, Valentines Day card, Shower invite , etc.
